WSJ Opinion – “Entrepreneurs Can Lead Us Out of the Crisis”

There was an interesting article yesterday in the Wall Street Journal “Opinion Journal“.  The opinion piece was co-authored by Tom Hayes, a long-time Silicon Valley executive.  In the piece, Mr. Hayes makes the point that support for entrepreneurs is lacking in the recently passed stimulus bill.  Not exactly news.

Where it gets interesting is the piece doesn’t focus on what most entrepreneurs would tell you they need: more capital.  No, a provocative agenda of structural and legislative changes to the status quo are laid out.  Access to more capital?  Yes, sorely needed.  However Mr. Hayes response is not necessarily more money, but making Sarbanes-Oaxley voluntary for startup companies going public.  Interesting…
