Our Akron Global Business Accelerator (AGBA) was in the news over the holidays.
First, exciting news concerning a memo of understanding between Akron General’s Office of Technology Transfer, Commercialization and Innovation and AGBA. Akron General Medical Center and the Akron Global Business Accelerator will work together to attract, develop and grow young biomedical companies. The collaboration is the latest step in strengthening the identity of the growing Akron Biomedical Corridor.
Next, two articles on AGBA tenants and the success they are having.
ReXorce Thermionics Inc. signed a deal with Parker Hannifan and BASF to develop a working prototypes of key components in their thermal engine, which transforms waste heat into usable electricity, cooling and heating. These agreements will help accelerate development for the young company.
Next, the Akron Beacon Journal reports on the success of Summit Data Communications, a group of 5 ex-Cisco employees filling a niche in the wireless market - radio cards for mobile devices. The component they make costs less than $100, but without it, equipment costing thousands of dollars becomes useless.
Congratulations to AGBA and it’s tenants on their recent successes!
